There are a few rules when it comes to piercing a minor! Please keep in mind identification is required by the state and our insurance company. If bent or broken we would risk losing licensing/insurance or incurring fines. These rules are not flexible.
ID requirements: A legal parent or guardian must be present throughout the entire appointment and bring a state issued ID. The ID cannot be expired.
If a legal guardian is accompanying the minor, guardianship papers issued by the state must be shown.
A state or government issued ID is required for minors 14 and up, coupled with a parent/guardian’s ID. The ID must not be expired and must be physically present at the beginning of the appointment. Photos of identification cannot be accepted. There are no exceptions to ID requirements. School ID cannot be accepted.
If last names do not match a birth certificate and/or name change paperwork is also required. Parent must be listed on the birth certificate.
Acceptable types of ID are:
- Permit/Driver’s license
- State issued ID
- Passport

If you do not have state ID for your child you can obtain one at the DMV. State IDs can be issued for a child of any age.

We prefer appointments for all services.
All piercing or jewelry insertions require an appointment! This is to give everyone the time and attention they deserve and not rush the process.
If you are looking to purchase jewelry only and do not need it inserted you may walk-in. You will need to know what gauge and length or diameter you need and may need to wait as appointments take priority. We do not have regular business hours since we are appointment only so it’s a great idea to call before you stop in!

Pricing is done by piercing fee + jewelry selection.
Consultations are $10.
Downsizing is $10 plus cost of the post/jewelry.
Insertions:
1-2 piercings: $10
2-4 piercings: $20

Pricing varies depending on the jewelry you choose. Jewelry prices range significantly as we have many options to choose from. The base prices including piercing fee & the most basic titanium or niobium jewelry is listed when you book for your piercing. Prices can go up from there if you’re interested in something with gems or 18k/14k solid gold. Basic prices are listed in the descriptions of the booking options. If you see a piece you love on our Instagram or Facebook page feel free to message us and ask for pricing! -
Jewelry must be from a high quality body jewelry manufacturer. We typically do not pierce with jewelry that was not purchased from Gold Fox Piercing or Fox & Fern Piercing Studio.
Why?
It is extremely important to wear high quality, well fitting jewelry. For initial piercings you must have some extra room for swelling. When you buy from a reputable piercer they will measure and fit jewelry specifically for you & the location of your piercing. Most piercers have a minimum requirement for the gauge(thickness of jewelry) they will use for specific locations. If you bring something from outside the shop we cannot guarantee the jewelry will fit these requirements. If low quality or ill fitting jewelry is used in a piercing, even if healed, it can cause irritation, migration, rejection, or promote infection.What if my jewelry is from a jeweler?
Jewelers are great for things like necklaces and rings! Unfortunately they are not well versed in what is required for jewelry being worn inside the body or in a fresh wound. Materials, sizing and style will not be appropriate.
If you have jewelry previously purchased from Gold Fox Piercing or Fox & Fern Piercing Studio, we may be able to use it! It must be dropped off at minimum one day before your appointment so we can correctly process it for a new piercing. We are closed Sundays & Mondays. Please call before dropping off your jewelry!
If you aren’t sure if the jewelry you have is from a high quality body jewelry manufacturer, please call and let us know who it’s from! Typically if the jewelry is from the mall or online, it will not be from a reputable manufacturer. -
There are minimum age requirements for specific piercings; These may vary by studio/practitioner but at Gold Fox Piercing these are the minimum age requirements.

14+ with Rachael & Derek.

Daith, Tragus, Conch, Scapha, Rook: 16+

We do not send photos of jewelry. The best way to see what we have is to make an appointment for a jewelry purchase or stop in when we are open to have a look.
There are a few reasons for this:
- Jewelry stock changes often and having to take new high quality photos of everything would take a very long time, as well as removing pieces that have sold. We could not guarantee that something you saw in photos would still be present when you come in for your appointment.
- It is best to see jewelry in person! Seeing it in person assures there is no confusion on size of jewelry, what will work for your specific anatomy, and which jewelry can be worn in which piercing.

Cancellation policies must be agreed to when booking - please be sure to read the information before agreeing.
- Reschedules & cancellations must be done at least 12 hours before the beginning of your appointment. This can be done through the confirmation email you are sent when booking.
Cancellations will result in a $5 processing fee.
Reschedules are accepted until 12 hours before your appointment time and will not incur any fees.
- If you are late to your appointment by 5 minutes your appointment will be cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited. This is a strict policy. For shorter appointments we suggest coming 5 minutes early as those do not have any wiggle room.
- Deposits vary depending on what service you are booking. If you do not show up to your appointment, show up late, or cancel within 12 hours of the start of your appointment time your deposit will not be refunded.

Once jewelry has been inserted/touched or has left the studio there are no returns or refunds. This means you can be absolutely sure the jewelry you are purchasing has never been worn by anyone else (Yucky!).
If a piece of jewelry is broken it can generally be repaired by the manufacturer. If it was a manufacturer error the repair will be free of charge. If the damage was user error they may charge a small fee to repair the piece. Jewelry has a lifetime guarantee when it comes to manufacturer defects, but does not cover loss or user damage.
If you feel a piercing is crooked or paired piercings are off, please contact us! We want all our clients to be happy when they walk out of our studio and we are happy to fix any mistakes that may have been made. No one is perfect, but we will always fix mistakes free of charge.
We have a 1 week guarantee for piercing issues - if you notice anything incorrect, please contact us within 1 week of your piercing date. Past that we can’t be sure if it was us or incorrect aftercare/migration/damage.
